CHINA, JAPAN, ASEAN - INVESTMENT TRENDS IN ASIA
Web Conference | Thu, October 8, 2020 | 9:30am CET
China’s economy benefits from a strong domestic economy and a growing middle class. The country has developed an incredible growth dynamic since the 1980s. This makes China one of the global megatrends of the 21st century. But what will happen after Covid-19 and the intensified conflict with the USA? What opportunities do the Chinese equity and bond markets offer in the current situation?
Japan remains consistent and made numerous negative headlines during the Covid-19 crisis. This has consequences for the capital market. Japanese equities are valued comparatively low by international standards. International investors have recently withdrawn a lot of capital from Japan. Where do investment opportunities arise in this environment? What trends can be identified in Japan?
The economy in Southeast Asia was hit particularly hard by the corona virus pandemic. But the ASEAN countries could benefit from the smouldering trade conflict and rising costs in China. Thanks to favorable demographic figures and comparatively high interest rates, it is worthwhile looking at Southeast Asia.
