Is now the right time to invest in China A-shares?

Ken Wong, Client Portfolio Manager, Eastspring Investments

While the Chinese A-share market was one of the best market performers in 2020, it has been one of the key detractors in 2021. With the recent pullback, we have been witnessing a style rotation in which investors have begun to invest more into cyclicals as investors have reduced their exposure to Chinese new economy stocks. While the pullback was warranted given the high valuations on some of the technology related names, is this now a good opportunity for investors to focus once again on these high flying new economy stocks in China?
