ESG and sustainable investing are among the investment megatrends of the 21st century. Climate change and ecological disasters, environmental protection and the prevention of armed conflicts – the list of reasons for ethical, sustainable investing is long. But there are also solid economic arguments in favour of ESG.
After all, the analysis of sustainability strategies is providing more and more evidence that sustainable investment pays off. A significant number of sustainable investment strategies are able to beat the peer group of strategies managed according to conventional standards. Which strategies are these and what are the reasons behind?

A presentation on the changing landscape of ESG investing with a focus on Impact Investing and its increasing market relevance. Sarah will discuss what impact investing looks like within listed equities, some of the hurdles to implementation and the importance of impact measurement.

The impact of investments towards the environment is becoming more and more of importance for investors. Green Bonds might be a natural fit to investor’s expectations and needs, as they provide deep insights on the funded projects and its current and future impact on the environment. This steadily growing market represents a valuable alternative to traditional global bond investors.

Matteo has over 13 years of experience as a fund manager. Before joining Eurizon, he worked for Banca Profilo. He has gained significant experience in the management of bond portfolios, within international bonds, emerging market bonds and agencies. Matteo graduated in Economics and the Management of Institutions and Financial Markets at the Università Cattolica in Milan.
Yvonne Löschinger, in her role as Passive Sales at DWS, is responsible for ETF sales to private banks and single family offices in Germany. Prior to that she worked for 13 years in the investment bank of Deutsche Bank. Olivier Souliac has been responsible for R&D of index strategies at DWS since 2018. He holds a Master in Engineering Science from the Ecole Centrale, Paris, and in Financial Mathematics from the TU Berlin.
Sarah is lead portfolio manager on the European Ethical Equity strategy and co-portfolio manager of the Global Equity Impact strategy. She joined ASI in 2011 having previously worked at Referendum Ready, a non-profit campaign that partnered with the Government of Southern Sudan Mission. Sarah has 9 years’ experience in the industry. Her qualifications include MA (Hons) in International Relations from St Andrews University.
